Ms. Faux's Favorite Things Party Haul: Part 3

Ooooooh chile... this is gettin' good.  Ms. Faux wants to have these parties all the time, but alas.  Here we go though with part 3 of Ms. Faux's Favorite Things Party Haul.

We are startin' off good and with a good story.  The person who got this gift was Ms. Sarah and truth... she had just talked recently to Ms. Faux about a good highlighter.  I could not be more pleased she got this from Ms. Becky.  It was as if it was written in the stars.

Alright... enough of that we begin with this gift given by Ms. Becky...

What is it?  According to Sephora.com...

What it is:
A champagne cream-to-powder highlighter.

What it does:
Benefit’s bestselling highlighter turns up the wattage with a delicate, champagne glow and soft-focus effect. Its smooth application and luminous sheen switches on the "wow" factor for any complexion. Apply it to cheeks and browbones, then then sculpt the complexion with the soft-glow blender to achieve the perfect gleam.

Beauty tip:
Watt's up! is a celebrity makeup artist favorite for strobing.

What does Ms. Faux think?

This was one of the highlighters that Ms. Faux was going to recommend Ms. Sarah back then.  Well this one and theBalm's Mary LouManizer, for much of the same reason.  Oh and Perricone MD's No Highlighter, Highlighter.  This is a gorgeous champagne color so it blends in nicely and gives that natural dewy look rather than looking as if a unicorn molested your face.

One thing I do recommend against is using the foam tip to distribute your product on your face as I find it just moves around your make up.  Fingertips works best with this product.

Also wondering where to use these.  Try this diagram:

There was another suggestions at the party, but it was WRONG, and dirty... and hilarious, but still not where you put a highlighter.  Also I would add to the diagram above that the brow bone is probably better than the temples.  With highlighters you are trying to draw attention to something.  Ms. Faux done has herself a five finger forehead so don't think that I want to draw attention to that.  Between the eyebrows however looks nice.

Now the next bunch of goodies were brought by Ms. Erin and they also include some Faux Faves.

What does Ms. Faux think?

Now this is likely a product that Ms. Faux would never use.  I have hair that is as straight as a male member of the Republican party claims to be, however Ms. Erin has looooooooong and wavy hair that always looks FIERCE.  So if she say it works... hunties... it be werkin'.

What is it?  According to Scunci.com...

O.k. as I have noted above I have linked the Scunci site as these are not coming up in places that I have seen them (Target, CVS, Walgreens, etc...), but trust they are there.  You are likely going to have to walk into the store.

I do love these because as you know scrunchie's are not the most in vogue item, but we all have them.  Well Scunci has taken something that isn't fashionable and made it fashionable with that little 50's looking bow.  They are adorable and I have these along with the not so fashionable ones for washing my face.  These though... are adorbs.

And once again from Ms. Erin who seemed steeped in hair care...

What is it?  According to Target.com...

Our high-performance lightweight heatspray offers 450 degree heat protection for an ideal sleek look that lasts. Specially formulated to work with any heat styling tool, our unique formula not only helps protect from heat damage but calms frizz, seals in shine, blocks humidity and conditions for a sleek style that lasts 3 days.

  • Purpose: Medium Hold
  • Type of Hair: All Hair Types
What does Ms. Faux think?

Again... probably not the product for Ms. Faux's straight hair, I have however used their Boost It Blow Out Heat Spray and it worked beautifully.  Also... I believe I mentioned how amazing Ms. Erin's hair is so... enough said.  That being said L'Oreal's entire line of Advanced Haircare available at Target.com, is pretty amazing, especially their TOTAL REPAIR 5 DAMAGE ERASING BALM.  Performs better than some professional balms I have used.  Click the link above for a Faux Review.

What is it?  According to Walgreens.com...

Use this once-a-week shampoo treatment to instantly remove residue that can cause bad hair days. Then go back to your favorite shampoo and you'll find it working better than ever.
  • Cleans hair thoroughly, easily rinses clean
  • Mild formula won't cause irritation
  • For all hair types
  • Contains biodegradable ingredients
Made in USA

What does Ms. Faux think?

I love it.  I actually can't believe I haven't made this a Faux Fave before this, but trust that Ms. Faux is in the know about this product.  At present I'm into a bottle of Bumble & Bumble Sunday Shampoo, however when that is done I will likely run back to this.

This is an Allure Beauty Award winning shampoo that is what it says, "a once a week shampoo."  This is meant to remove all the crap and leave your scalp looking all clean and your hair silky.  It pairs well with L'Oreal's Total Repair 5 Damage Erasing Balm, mentioned and linked above.

So there you go...  5 more amazing products.  Stay tuned for more.
