Faux's & Craft: Monogram Ornaments

So Ms. Faux was in her local JoAnn Fabrics store recently working on some holiday decor for a client when she ran across these lovely little ornaments.

Now Ms. Faux likes her holiday decorations to look as if they were quite possibly part of her already there, decor.  These typeface type ornaments were just that.

Now... I did not want them on a tree, but wanted to come up with another way to display them.  One part, because my tree was already decorated but also because of this guy...

These ornaments are quite fragile and easily breakable and he is a bit of a nightmare.  Also there was the thought that I would use them past the holiday season.  So here is what I came up with.  You will need the following.

So I decided to make a name for display.  I painted my wooden plaque with a matte black spray paint.  You can use other types of paint.  I chose this application for a smoother application as well as I already had it on hand.  Otherwise I took each letter and placed a small bead of glue on the underside and the lower 1/2 of the right hand side of each letter.

I centered each letter on the board and voila!

A lovely gift for a friend.  Better yet, though it is definitely an ornament, it could be left out year round.  Also the sky is the limit on what you can spell and create.  This was a perfect quick craft, gift or holiday decoration.

So what did you think?
