Holiday Gift Ideas: Faux Fave - Archipelago No. 78 Amber & Cedarwood Wooden Box Diffuser

So Ms. Faux, each year throws a Favorite Things Party.  What is a favorite things party?  Well a group of her favorite ladies convene.  We eat delicious things.  We drink delicious beverages and then we exchange gifts, Dirty Santa style of our favorite things.

So what is a favorite thing?  It is anything that you love.  We set a price limit (around $20) and let anyone bring whatever it is that they love.  The fun of the party is that you will get a gift that has been vetted and better even is that you get to see other gifts that are amazing as well while the giver gets to tell you why.  I'm on my 4th or 5th year and it just keeps getting better.

So in the spirit of that party, which Ms. Faux will be listing the favorite things on her blog after, I'm going to do a listing of some of my favorite gift ideas each day in various price ranges.

So to begin... the item that sits next to Ms. Faux's couch.  It is on the table for which she sets her wine and and drink in her lovely vino with a delectable scent.  That is...

What is it?  According to Archipelago-USA.com...

Enjoy the rich and warm blend of Cedarwood, Suede and Arabian Musk. When a candle just isn't enough, add additional fragrance with our dramatic reedless diffuser.  The complex fragrance oils soak up and safely saturate the round wooden cap, delivering months of continuous fragrance.  The dramatic box and genuine leather tags make this the perfect gift for yourself or someone else!

What does Ms. Faux think?

This is one of the special elements of Ms. Faux's house that makes it feel like home.  The scent of this diffuser is absolutely intoxicating.  One of Ms. Faux's favorite scents is that of a cedar spa and this scent brings her right back there.  It is also scented of other favorite notes of leather and musk.  The scent is so layered and nuanced and the woodiness of the scent is so very calming.

I also truly love the design.  We are all very used to reed diffuser.  (see below)

The only issue with those is that Ms. Faux very much pays attention to form.  I love a beautiful thing and I love for a spin to be put on a classic.  Reed diffusers are amazing, but to be truthful I am not about the reeds.  I am the worst to tip them over, catch things on them and in general... spill my delicious oils.  This design puts an end to that.

The cap of the oil is the diffuser.  Yes it does take a few days for the oil to sink through to the cap, but when it does... it is lovely and delicious.  Also... look how beautiful it is.  The leather embossed label and brown glass just reeks of old school, classic design.  It reminds Ms. Faux of an old school gymnasium which fits right in with her industrial decor, however its classic design is befitting of other types of decor as well.  It is very versatile.

It comes in a variety of other scents including Mulberry Bark, Oakmoss & Wood, Smoked Ashwood, and Tabac and Oud wood (for an earlier blog on the deliciousness of the scent OUD, click on this earlier post HERE.  This just happens to be Ms. Faux's fave.

Still I believe this to be a delicious, luxury gift for that person in your life that may be in love with scents.
