Global Love: Croatia

Welcome Croatia.  Ms. Faux is so thrilled to add you to her list of international readers.  For the longest time I knew very little about your country.  Thing things I did know were...

#1.  You are responsible for one of my favorite basketball players ever in Drazen Petrovic.  So tragic.  Yes I know that Tony Kukoc is also from there, but I'm not a Bulls fan therefore he falls into the devil team's squad.  :)

#2.  I worked with an engineer named Damir who did nothing but bring back gorgeous pictures of the Croatian beaches.

I mean seriously.  How gorgeous.  It makes me want to go there immediately and trust that I will.  So thank you once again Croatia.  You join a beautiful group including US, UK, Indonesia, Germany,Ukraine, India, France, Brazil, Taiwan, Bermuda, Ireland, Israel, Russia, Poland, Sweden,Canada, Singapore, Thailand, Austrailia, Kenya, China, Italy, Iran, Greece, Mexico, Belgium, Spain, Malta, Brunei, Phillipines, Azerbaijan, Austria, New Zealand, Peru, Vietnam & now Croatia!!!

Peace and Love,
Faux

Fab 5 Friday: 7.3.2015

Oooops...

Here is a previously un-posted Fab 5 Friday from July 3, 2015.  ENJOY!!!

Well hello hunties.  Again I'm sorry for the delay in posting.  Moving sucks.  That is all I can say.  Ms. Faux has basically been sticking to the scheduled of wake up, go to work, come home and pack, go to sleep and then wake up and start all over again.  It has been hell.

At any rate my post will be sporadic for the time being, however sometimes I will post two post in one day like today and her is one of my favorites... FAB FIVE FRIDAY.  These are the fabulous products that have helped Ms. Faux get out the door not looking dead.  Let me tell you... as of late that is a feat.  Anywho... here you go.

#1.  Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer $29.99 at Narscosmetics.com

Clearly I loved it because I used this product all week long.  This product may be Ms. Faux's current favorite concealer.  So moisturizing.  Goes on very clean and doesn't crease.  This was not a week for foundation, not that it ever is, however this takes whatever flaws you may have and makes them look like perfection.  It is a quick way to a great no make up complexion.   Use it on eyes, blemishes, hyper-pigmented areas, etc...

What does Ms. Faux think?

Well I may just be packing this for Italy.  It has been my go to powder recently to take down shine.  It is in a compact so perfect for travel, but I do love to pair it with my #3 Fab Five Friday item which may be too big to pack.

#3  It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Jumbo Powder Brush $58 at ULTA.com

This is Ms. Faux's faaaaaaaaavorite powder brush.  Why?  Because it is so big, the bristles are so soft and it makes quick work of putting on powder.  The bristles are also very dense so it puts powder where it needs to be and sweeps it away where it doesn't need to.  Why?  Because no one needs to look like they have a face full of powder.
Why this color?  Well it is a fine product, but this color is perfect for the fact that Ms. Faux has been barely wearing make up this week and this just pulls things together very well for a very natural look.  This is my first of the Bobbi Brown line that I have tried.

#5.  Benefit Gimme Brow $24 at Sephora.com

Why Gimme Brow?  Well you know Ms. Faux do care for a manicured brow and this week I really haven't had time to do so.  This product however allows you to do a quick swipe to fake it.  While I don't think it creates the perfect brow, I do think it is perfect in a time crunch.  The tiny brush is just perfection and allows you to get each and every brow.

And there it is, Ms. Faux's Fab Five Friday.  Of course Mascara is another that I used all week, but I did tend to vary that based on my look.  I will however give an honorary mention to ELF Cosmetics

Though the other products were used more, this being in my purse on a couple of days did allow me to do a quick pick me up with some color on those days I was looking a bit pale from running around on very little sleep.
So there it is ladies and gents... all the reasons I left without looking a fright.

Have you tried any of these products?
What are your favorite quickie products?

Things I've Used/Emptied!!!

So it is very few and far between when I empty something so when I do it is because either, I loved it or at least it was tolerable on some level.  Trust... I do throw away when I do not like.  What is the point?  Life is short.  Use what you love.  Here are a few things though that I did finish recently so thought I would share.

#1.  L'Oreal Advanced Haircare Color Vibrancy Nourishing Shampoo $4.99 at lorealparisusa.com and L'Oreal Advanced Haircare Color Vibrancy Nourishing Conditioner $4.99 at lorealparisusa.com.

What does Ms. Faux think?

I used it didn't I.  This is also a very large bottle of shampoo.  I do think it does protect color and leaves Ms. Faux's very fine hair with a clean and clear feeling.  What does Ms. Faux feel is clean and clear?  With really fine hair you feel build up really quickly.  This leaves Ms. Faux's hair feeling clean as a whistle, not heavy and just perfection.  I do like varying my shampoo to keep the build up feeling from happening, but I have been packing for moving and using this for 2 solid weeks and it is just perfect.  Totally worth it.

#2  Nip + Fab Bee Sting Fix Deluxe Cream $19.99 at ulta.com

What does Ms. Faux think?

It is sooooooo good and I will buy it again.  It claims to be a second skin that helps to diminish fine lines.  While Ms. Faux doesn't have too many lines, I can say it is soooooo moisturizing.  I haven't been the best at taking care of my skin while packing.  Sleeping with make up on, not drinking enough water... you name it, I've done it.  This cream is my saving grace and works every morning to perfection.

What does Ms. Faux think?

I reviewed this before and was not impressed with the scent, however what I am impressed with is that I forgot the sheer joy of a shower foam.  Also it takes me back to a scent that I have an emotional connection to.  Does everyone remember those oil shower balls that used to be the rage in the 80s?

Yeah... those.  The ones I bought for my grandma every christmas and then she let me use.  Yes... I know I'm a terrible child.  Anyway... this smells like those.  Though the product smell is not spectacular it does bring me back to a lovelier time.

What does Ms. Faux think?

If anyone has read this blog for long you know this is not the first can of Elnett that Ms. Faux has been through.  It is the best hairspray and I have used it for years.  Professional hairstylists swear by this product and have used it even before it was more easily accessible  in the states as it is now.

#5 L'Oreal Go 360 Deep Exfoliating Scrub $4.99 at lorealparisusa.com

What does Ms. Faux think?

I swear I'm not sponsored by L'Oreal Paris, I just do think they have quality products.  This face scrub is by no means Ms. Faux's favorite, but I do think is a a very goo day to day scrub that comes with the perfect scrubber.  The scrubber fits into the bottle so you won't lose it and it is so very gentle, which is a danger with most scrubs.  I would but this product again.  It is perfection.

So there you go... A few items Ms. Faux has made her way though.

What do you think?

Have you used any of these products?

What are your faves?

Welcome Vietnam!

Welcome Vietnam.  Thank you for reading.  You guys are on my long list of Asian countries that I want to visit.

Although your country is gorgeous and beautiful the first thing Ms. Faux thinks of when she thinks of you is your delicious food.  Ya'll do know how to sling a spice.  :)  Oooooooooh those noodles.  O.k. now I'm hungry and having to go get some food.  See I told you.  Your food is too good.

So again thank you international readers and especially today Peru.  You join a beautiful group including US, UK, Indonesia, Germany,Ukraine, India, France, Brazil, Taiwan, Bermuda, Ireland, Israel, Russia, Poland, Sweden,Canada, Singapore, Thailand, Austrailia, Kenya, China, Italy, Iran, Greece, Mexico, Belgium, Spain, Malta, Brunei, Phillipines, Azerbaijan, Austria, New Zealand, Peru and now Vietnam!!!

Fauxprano's Italian Adventure: Cosmetics That Made The Cut

So Ms. Faux is so very excited for her trip to Southern Italy with her best good friend Ms. M.  (Tune in later for cosmetics inspired by Ms. M).  So that means one set of cosmetics for the entire time that Ms. Faux is away.

As all of you know Ms. Faux's make up collection is quite varied especially on a day to day basis, so you know when she goes on a trip she packs the ones that are tried and true and wants to live day in and day out with for the extent of her trip.  These are the products that made the cut.

Foundation - Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua - $47 at Chanel.com

This foundation is a must for Ms. Faux.  Why?  It gives that barely there look with a decent coverage that Ms. Faux loves.  But Ms. Faux you don't care too much about coverage you say?  You are right, but when you are traveling your skin can act up.  This is delighful.  Oh who am I kidding.  This is my favorite foundation.  It has a water base and just feels soooooooooo good on your skin.

Blush - Josie Maran Argan Color Stick

Josie Maran Argan Color Stick in Brick Red - $22 at Sephora.com
Ms. Faux found this on a random outing to Sephora.  Why did I fall in love with this specific color?  Because it pairs so well with my dark hair.  I do love a red and when it has undertones of brown like a brick red does I love it even more.

It blends down into perfection, but super saturated it is perfect for lips.  Much like the Nars Multi - this stick is however less expensive and this may be Ms. Faux's favorite color of all of these multi-use make up sticks.

Eyeshadow - MAC

MAC Vex Eyeshadow - $16 at maccosmetics.com

So why this color.  It is the perfect taupe/neutral.  I only like to pack a single eye look on a trip and vary my lipsticks.  This one is perfection.  Looks good with red as well as a pink or a neutral lip.  One eye color for three different looks.

Eyeliner - Tarte SmolderEYES
Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner
in Golden Black $22 at Sephora.com

Tarte SmolderEYES in Golden Black - $22 at Sephora.com
Why do I love this?  Again it is the perfect neutral.  Pairs well with red, pink and neutral so you have another product that can create three different looks.

As you can see below you can blend it out for a more neutral look and darken for a more dramatic effect.

Brows - MAC Brow Powder

So Ms. Faux is cheating here because they don't make this anymore at MAC.  She has it from forever and a day ago but will not let it go because it is so perfect and compact.  Fear not however Benefit makes one called Brow Zings $32 at Sephora.com and Elf has Studio Eyebrow Kit for $3 at eyeslipsface.com.  They work just as well, but Ms. Faux just loves this packaging more.  The reason I do love it though because Ms. Faux uses all kinds of brow products, but I always return to powder.  It gives a more natural look and is buildable to a more dramatic look if you so please.

Mascara - Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs O!Mega Lash Volumizing Mascara - $26 at Sephora.com
This may be the thing that I gave the least amount of thought to.  Ultimately I wanted a good mascara.  My hair is dark enough that black or brown doesn't make that big of a difference.  There are plenty of good mascaras out there at the drugstore level, however I just so happened to have a sample of this mascara which was perfect for packing.  Don't get me wrong this is a VERY good mascara.  The size did play into my decision however.

Lipstick - There are 3!!!

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick - Lolita - $20 at Sephora.com

#1 is perfection in a tube.  Cult Favorite Everlasting Lip Color by Kat Von D in LOLITA $20 at Sephora.com.  It is a lovely dark neutral matte lipcolor that can easily be turned into a gloss with a single swipe of gloss.  Shown above this color is commonly sold out both online and in the store.  I told you it is a cult favorite.  It is however perfection for those gals with dark hair and pale skin.

The Gorgeous Ms. Von D wearing LOLITA
I have a feeling though since it is constantly sold out that it works for people of all skin tones.

Boots No. 7 High Shine Lip Crayon in STATEMENT $8 at Target.com

#2 Boots No. 7 High Shine Lip Crayon in STATEMENT $8 at Target.com.  It is the UK's number 1 cosmetics brand, however No. 7 High Shine Lip Crayon is Ms. Faux's buildable red lip color.  Why?  Like I said, it is buildable.

Boots No. 7 High Shine Lip Crayon in Statement Swatches
You can go from subtle to a STATEMENT dependent on the number of swipes.  Ms. Faux also likes how subtle this red color is.  Requires less touch up.  Important because Ms. Faux can't be bothered to touch up when she is eating all the food in Italy and guzzling all the wine.  Pairs perfectly with the Josie Maran Argan Color Stick and layers even better.

Elf Studio Pout Perfector $3 at eyeslipsface.com
#3  Elf Studio Pout Perfector $3 at eyeslipsface.com is the perfect lipgloss.  Why Ms. Faux?  Because it can be worn alone for a gorgeous glowing lipgloss for a no make up make up look.

You can also pair it over Lolita above to give a luscious deep look.  The pink can play down the Josie Maran Argan Color Stick as you blend it in more to a pink look with foundation.  Now you have three different looks with less products.

Powders, Highlighters & Bronzers

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette $58 at Sephora.com
All three are accomplished with Hourglass's Ambient Lighting Palette and better yet, it is a simple compact.  Use the Dim light to brush all over the face, Incandescent for highlighting and radiant light for both bronzing and since I'm very pale as a blush for a neutral look.

So there it is.  Three different looks with the minimal amount of products packed.

Do you have any other multi products that you use for travel?

Do you have any other travel tips.
