Holiday Sets: Drug Store Find?!?!

So ya'll know that I have been giving the 411 on those holiday palettes that I think are worth their weight in gold.  Holla... Anything by Benefit pretty much.  Also Tarte and Buxom have peaked Ms. Faux's interest, but as we all know Ms. Kat Von D May be winning this war with that Mi Vida Loca palette.  Anywho... those are high end.  To be honest I probably would very rarely recommend a drugstore holiday set or palette unless it was my beloved NYX and their "Butt Naked Palette," at Ulta.com.  Sponsor me NYX.  You are my one true love.  Actually not true but you are a main gal.

On the Faux tip...  O.k. actually Ms. Faux's good friend Ms. Cara gave her this tip and now... Imma gonna share it with you.

Wet n Wild Fergie Center Stage Eye Collection
$10 at Walgreens (Currently $5)
Sorry there is no link as it is not linkable.  Not even on their website.
Still there were a lot at Walgreens.

What is it?  Well according to Faux because I can't find any manufacturer information, it is a holiday kit that includes the following:

1.  (1) Turn Up The Volume Full Blast Mascara
2.  (2) On Edge Long-Wearing Eye Pencils
3.  (1) Eyeshadow Brush
4.  (1) Photo Focus Studio Eyeshadow Palette

What does Ms. Faux think?

Well first of all it is worth the $10 to get to try all of these things and then I got it for $5.  Hello!!!!  As far as the contents I would say the mascara is all that I have absolutely no use for.

Other than that they eye shadow brush is not terrible and I likely will use it as a crease brush.  It is very comparable to an ELF studio brush.

Otherwise the pencils are actually quite good.  They smudge well and they are pretty highly pigmented.  They glide on and have a fair amount of staying power.  I have only pictured the brown one below but they come in brown and black.

But the whole reason for getting this palette is the Photo Focus Studio Eyeshadow Palette.

I mean... Shimmers, mattes and satins... oh my.  Seriously it has gorgeous black and brown eyeliner shades as well as three colors reminiscent of some of my favorite shades in the Naked 3 Palette and then some gorgeous pinks, a beautiful gold and a luxuirous copper shade.

First Five Shades

Second Five Shades
It is a beautiful neutral palette in the vein of their Color Icon Palettes which are excellent.  Don't let Wet N Wild Fool you, they lock it down on eye shadows.

Other than that thought I would mention a couple more things I picked up today that were just fun.

First was again a Wet N Wild Color Icon Glitter Palette.  It was not $5 but rather $2.50.  This would be a fun way to play with glitter overlays without breaking the bank.

I didn't swatch them as they are overlays and seriously for $2.50 even if you hate it, you aren't going to be terribly out a huge amount of money.  I love the shades on the left row.  Green, turquoise, orange and gold glittery beautifulness.  On the right however is an irridescent clear and silver as well as a duochrome type brown/red and pure silver.  Such fun.

Then lastly for $1 I picked up the ProFusion Twinkle Twinkle 5 Color Eyeshadow palette.

It was $1 folks.  I was willing to take the risk, and I'm glad I did.  Look at the swatches.

Stunning!  Again I'm so sorry I couldn't link anything, but seriously head to Walgreens.  They had them there.

So there you go.  Some super affordable and gorgeous shadows and other bits which cost me a grand total of $8.50 before tax.  Unbelievable.  To be fair though after Chicago sales tax it probably cost me $20.  Ha!  Just kidding, but a little serious.  Our sales tax is high y'all.

Do you have any drug store palettes you die for?

Please let Ms. Faux know.  Leave it in the comments.

Also if ya'll love it please tell all of your friends and follow her on the following sites.  If you don't... tell your enemies and just sit back and laugh at how they were sent to my ramblings.  And remember... if you don't look good, then Ms. Faux be lookin' like a damn fool.
