Give FauxPrah and ULTAmatum: $20 Steal

ULTA

Be Beautiful-Color Essentials Collection

So FauxPrah be rootin' around in ULTA the other day when this delightful little case caught her eye.  Now I am gonna be real with ya'll, Ms. FauxPrah don't know that much about ULTA cosmetics, but at $20 I figure this was the place to start.  They also note it have a $106 value.  Other than the super duper cute little case, the following things are included.

Be Beautiful-Color Essentials Collection includes:
  • 10 Shade Eye Shadow Palette
  • 2 Butter Balm Lip Glosses
  • 2 Lip Crayons
  • 2 Dual Ended Eye Liners
  • Bronzer & Highlighter Compact
  • 2 Brow Powders & Wax Compact
  • Eye Shadow Brush
  • Blush Brush
  • Sponge Tip Brush
  • 1 Train Case
So here be Ms. FauxPrah's thoughts on the case.

Like I said the case is super duper cute.  The eye shadow is a little drier than Ms. FauxPrah like, but the colors are great, a few really good neutral colors, some lovely rosey/mauve  colors that seem to be on trend this year and gorgeous burnt orange and sage green.  I think the only color I may not use is the lavender.  Tonight I used the dark green with the neutral beige and it was gorgeous.  Some of the colors even reminded me of the Lorac Unzipped Palette $42 at Ulta.

I did use the butter balm lip glosses.  One is a coral color and the other a red.  The coral paired very well with the green shadow I used tonight and the red was very vibrant.  Again not as moisturizing as I like, but o.k.

There were two lip crayons.  I did like the darker one more.  It looks like the color of my lips at their best.  I'm much paler so the lighter one really didn't work well on me, but might pair well with a gloss.

The highlighter was also a little dry but worked well and I imagine would work well in the summer months when your skin tends to be a little dewey.  It hearkens Ms. FauxPrah back to her humidity kissed face when she lived down south.  Where every day looked like a Tennessee Williams play.  I'm talking Ms. Elizabeth Taylor fierceness!

The brow powder and wax is actually quite acceptable.  Sure there are better.  Ms. FauxPrah do quite prefer Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powders at Sephora, mainly because their color selection is more detailed, but then again at this price it is not terrible and the wax is actually quite good.  The color choices were also perfect for both a natural or strong brow for Ms. FauxPrah.

The brushes I will likely throw into my gym bag, except for the sponge applicator which in Ms. FauxPrah's opinion are absolute silliness.  Use brushes.  They work must better.  There are also two dual ended eye liners that will follow right behind the sponge applicator as they are very dry and tug too much at your eye.

So overall, for the price the set is pretty good.  I would probably pay $20 for the compact and brow powder & wax alone.  Again all the products are a bit drier than Ms. FauxPrah like, but as I have said throughout this entire bog... Gurl you just paid $20.  Well worth it... just like you.

And remember ladies, ain't no make up in this world that can make you more beautiful than you are.  Regardless of what you wear, the make up on your face or the shape of your body, remember there is nothing more beautiful than your heart and your smile.
