Fab Five Friday: April 24, 2015

So here it be.  Fab Five Friday.  The five most used things that Ms. FauxPrah used this week to get herself lookin' fierce... or at least to keep her from scaring the children.

So this week has been about getting Ms. FauxPrah's skin back on track.  A lack of water and gettin' into too many product took absolutely normal skin and tore it up child.  Now I say tore it up, but what I mean is, made it a bit tight.  Ms. FauxPrah don't like it tight.  Well that's not entirely true, but definitely not on her face.

GlamGlow Thirsty Mud Hydrating Treatment

So this is a bit pricey but really did the job this week.  I used it three times at night and my skin is pretty much right back on track.  The pricetag be a little salty, but a pro tip hunties $69 in Sephora... only $52 on Amazon.com.  Save ya duckets child.

So ms. FauxPrah put this on about 15 minutes before nodding off, woke up the next morning and removed and BAM... she got new skin.  It really worked the first day I tried it but I did two more nights just to make sure.

Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist

I did this on a recommendation of the children and honeychild did it work.  I fully credit both this product and the GlamGlow as the true saviors of Ms. FauxPrah's facial dry patch.  Can I get an Amen up in here?  The children may be the future after all.

$17 at The Body Shop Ms. FauxPrah used this as a pick me up as well as a make up setting spray and also on her BeautyBlender (see below) to help dilute her foundation.  It is scented like rosewater and easily one of the most moisturizing and versatile sprays I have ever used.

BeautyBlender

I love this little hunty.  It is probably the easiest way to take full coverage make up and dilute it to that of a tinted mosturizer.  It is $20 at Sephora and Pro Tip (who am I kiddin' I ain't no pro but love to save the dolla bills ya'll) it is $30 for two blenders and official cleanser on amazon.com.  Now Ms. FauxPrah gots you a deal yo, so make sure to get the real deal.  I have tried the cheaper versions and they don't work as well.

It is washable and reusable.  The moisture you put on it distributes nicely and makes it easier to blend your favorite foundations, powders and other product.  Another pro tip:  They released a smaller version of this for I am assuming around the eyes.  Ms. FauxPrah don't really see the need right now but I will get back to you if I change my mind.

Laura Gellar Baked Liquid Radiance Foundation

Laura Gellar Baked Liquid Radiance Foundation
$38 at Ulta.com

I bought this on whim one day and I tell you it was a delight.  A bit more full coverage than Ms. FauxPrah care for.  Ms FauxPrah was blessed with some pretty decent skin but with the BeautyBlender Ms. FauxPrah now have a multi-use product.

What this foundation claimed:  The next generation of Baked, now in a full-coverage liquid formula! For the very first time, Baked pigments deliver the color correction you love, in a never-before-seen liquid foundation. Loose pigments are coated in almond oil, then baked in Italy on terracotta tiles to create perfectly smooth spheres of color that lay evenly on skin. These Baked pigments are combined with a water-rich, skin-loving formula to create radiance in a bottle. With a blend of illuminating and moisturizing ingredients, Baked Liquid Radiance delivers weightless, creamy color correction with a natural skin finish. The long-wearing, streak-free formula leaves skin glowing, healthy looking, and absolutely radiant.

It did color correct very well.  However the main color correction is a small one which is where Ms. FauxPrah busted a small vessel in her face throwing up.  Delicious hunties.  AmIright?  I'm everywoman!  #yesallwomen

The thing I loved is that it didn't sit on the skin, it gave a very glowing look (how Ms. FauxPrah like it) and did everything it said.  I did however dilute it quite a bit first with a beautyblender and water and then the beautyblender and the Body Shop Vitamin E Facial Mist.

Make Up

Soooooo this is sort of a cheat but there are three products that I used make up wise to look dewy because my skin did not feel so much.  I love all of them because they give that soft, dewy look of an english rose.  Perfection for Ms. FauxPrah's pale as hell skin.

NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Sponge Cake $4.99 at ULTA

Why do I love this product?  Because it is everything.  So moisturizing, so shimmery without being oh too shimmery and leaves your pout looking luscious.  It is so damn fine it deserves a swatch.  Ain't that pretty?

Physicians Formula Extreme Shimmer Gel Cream Eyeshadow Nude Set $11.99 at ULTA

I love these.  Mainly because they can be applied with a finger.  The gel formula glides on and gives sheer 24 hour color.  That is unless you gots bees up your nose in this springtime weather and you wipe it all away with your itchy eyes.  Still, it is so easy to apply I don't really mind.  Again with a swatch you say?

Well yes hunties.  Look at the beauty.  And though they look a bit more iridescent in this picture I can say you can either layer to get this look or do a more sheer look with less.

NYX Cream Blush in Tea Rose $6.99 at ULTA

I love that it gives a more natural rose kissed look as opposed to PINK!!!  That is probably becaused it is slightly kissed with orange.  The creme texture also just added an extra dimension of depth.  And again with the swatch?

Well yes because the color is just so beautiful.  Here it is heavily pigmented and a bit blended out.  Note that it do blend down more sweeties and is ever so beautiful.

So basically I just realized this weeks Fab Five is all about workin' with what the good lawd give ya!  Ms. FauxPrah again counts her blessings every day.  For what the lawd forgot in knee cartliage and facial features, he made up for with the skin on her face.  It just becomes about enhancing it.

All of the products here were for a more sheer application due to these blessings, but trust me there is something in every woman's face worth celebrating.  There is something in every woman's story, her body, her heart.  Find it and embrace it.  Much love and peace to all of you beauties.
