Dreamy Tim & The Old Town Five: Soul Brother Where Art Thou?

So Miss FauxPrah went and caught her dear friend Dreamy Tim's new show at The Second City etc. stage, Soul Brother Where Art Thou?  And hunties she do declare it a hit, an extravaganza a festival of the senses.  They also had a delicious cocktails.  But before all of that lets start off the evening right... or In Ms. FauxPrah's case, running so very late.

It was mighty rainy out so Ms. FauxPrah did not want to be wearing a lot of make up so I pulled together a favorite look of mine which is minimalist make up.  My minimalist make up generally is light everything with a very tailored brow.  It is the thing that pulls Ms. FauxPrah's face right out of the sewer.

So I began with Revlon's Photoready Skinlight's Face Illuminator.  Ms. FauxPrah counts her blessings every day that the good Lordt done did bestow upon her the blessing of decent skin.  Now if only he had worked his magic on her belly.  Damn these pants I'm puttin' on done gotten so tight.

The Face Illuminator gives a very nice dewy glow and just sort of perfects the skin from looking tired, and you know Ms. FauxPrah's butt be drag gin' like a damn dog on a Sunday.

I mean look at this beautiful glow.  Ms. FauxPrah uses the color Bare Light
I generally buff it in with a foundation blush like this one from Sonia Kashuk that I got at the local Target.

Next is brows.  I have every brow product under the sun because as I have mentioned I do believe the brows to be the real nice valances to your eyes.  And when you have a face the size of a frying pan like Ms. FauxPrah... well it do help.

Tonight I used a brow powder and wax from Ulta.  I would love to tell you the color, but it wasn't on there.  At any rate it doesn't really matter because to each their own color.  Am I right.  The reason i do love this brow powder/wax combination from Ulta is primarily for the wax which keeps Ms. FauxPrah's brows lookin' tight and right.  I got this combination in my Ulta Collection Kit that is available for $20 now at ULTA.

Then I dabbed on a tiny bit of elf's Smudge Pot in, "Ain't That Sweet," on m' eyelid.  No need for perfection.  It is a super duper light color that helps to add to that dewy look, especially with the creme like texture of the product.  It is heavenly and for only $3, cannot be beat!!!  You can get it online at the link below or at your local Target.

Next I took a blush brush and put a dab of Revlon's Highlighting Palette in, "Rose Glow," across the apples of her cheeks and up into her cheekbone.

I love it.  It is a gorgeous palette much like Bobbi Brown's Shimmer Bricks.  And at $12 at Ulta vs. $44 at Neiman Marcus for Bobbi Brown well you really can't go wrong.

I then closely smoked out my eye with a "That's So Kohl," Kohl Eyeliner in Double Espresso from Flower Cosmetics.

That's right, that little Gertie done started herself a cosmetics line.  Ms. FauxPrah so proud.

I then finished the look with a bit of it Cosmetic's translucent powder and a bit of Pixi by Petra Glow Mist.

Now Ms. FauxPrah's hair done be lookin' a fright so she do what she do with her regular wash, Matrix Oil Wonders Hibiscus Color Care oil, her hair dryer, a bit of Kenra hair spray and then her new favorite hair go to... her Hot Tools 3 Barrel Waver.

Hot Tools 3 Barrel Waver Tip: $59 at ULTA or $32.95 on Amazon.com

Now what do she like this for.  Well it be the perfect non-comitted way to change up a hair style.  It provides perfect small waves for Ms. FauxPrah's short, bob length hair.

I then put a few drops of Nuxe Multi-Purpose Dry Oil for Face, Body, and Hair in to my hands, rubbed together and the tousled the curls gently provided a bit more shine.  The waver is perfect in that it don't take too much time and gives an instant lift and FauxPrah be out the door.

She then met up with her favorite dreamy family and dined at Topo Gigio in the Old Town Neighborhood in Chicago.  It was a delicious Italian Feast where Ms. FauxPrah had to have the waiter order because she done forgot her glasses.

Ms. FauxPrah did rely on the kindness of strangers and thank heaves she did because she received a delicious capellini and red gravy with some steamed broccoli.  I didn't get a picture because I done ate it all.

Kim Crawford
She also wetted her palette with Ms. Kim Crawford's delicious Savignon Blanc.  She had scintillating conversation, sat next to a very handsome man and I do declare tried to solve the mystery of where that poor wife of that David Miscavige done went to.  Like a Tootsie Roll pop.  The world may never know.

Enough of that though.  Go see this magnificent show with Dreamy Tim and his fellow performers along with her friends Tiffany and Anthony as directors you cannot go wrong.  I mean... would Ms. FauxPrah do that to you.  I think no.

Overall this was a lovely evening capped off by an amazing show.
