Cosmetic Hack: Customizable Perfumed Lotion - LUBRIDERM LIFE HACK

FauxPrah has been a longtime fan of LUBRIDERM lotion and not for the reason that you perverts are thinking.  I like it because it is a quality lotion that is fragrance free.  Would I rather have a fragranced lotion?  Yes absolutely, but here is the beauty of a fragrance free one.

Since it is spring and summer is coming up.  Yes Chi-Towners it is Spring.  Just don't look outside, you will be fooled.  I prefer a much lighter perfume scent, body spray or just perfumed lotion.  Therein lies the beauty of lubriderm.  Simply pump the amount you will need to moisturize into your hand.  Grab your favorite perfume.  Spray a couple of spritzes directly into the lotion in the palm of your hand.  Rub together.  Voila!  Perfumed lotion.

Today I tried this with one of my favorite perfumes.  It is called KAI.  It sells for  $76 for the bottle or $48 for the roll on oil at Barneys,  Tip:  It sells for $55 & $33 at Amazon.  They also have tons of other products (candles, lotion, body spray, etc... on their website  Kai was created by Gaye Straza who spent her youth vacationing in the tropics.  She created a scent for herself that embodied the exotic white flowers that she loved and apparently a laundry list of celebrities who also love the fragrance.

Kai is a wonderfully clean floral.  I am not a fan of most floral scents, but I love this one.  Beautiful gardenia, white exotic florals, tuberose, jasmine and lily.  It may be my favorite go to gardenia scent although I do think J.Lo's, "Glow," for $23.65 for a 3.4 oz. Bottle on Amazon is also another good one.  I will note Glow and Sarah Jessica Parker's, "Lovely," are the only two celebrity perfumes that I would come close to endorsing.  Overall I think the vast majority are crap and not up to FauxPrah's standards.  Preach!

Anyway this lubriderm trick works with most perfumes and also essential oils.  I like to use Young Living's Sacred Mountain Blend ($47.04 for 15 ml oat Young Living)with it at the end of the day as a wind down.  The blend is used to promote feelings of strength, empowerment, grounding and protection.  Like sanctity of that of a conifer tree in the mountains.  A gorgeous woody scent.  

As a runner I tend to have very tight muscles and IT Band.  Most times I use Young Living's Pan Away ($46.38 for 5 ml at Young Living) directly on my skin, but also mix it in with Lubriderm .  It is perfect because it doesn't conflict with anything in the lotion.  The wintergreen based blend helps to warm muscles and tension.  As most of my running issues are ligament based I have found this invaluable as the oil itself was created by the founder of Young Living after a severe ligament injury.

So LUBRIDERM ladies.  Multi-purpose perfumed lotion at not the multi-perfume lotion prices.  And lets be real.  We all love those perfumed lotions, but no way in hell are most of us going to buy them, especially since, if you are like me, you can't even get through a bottle of perfume before boring of it.
