#DateMe & Wrinkle Relief: FauxPrah's Best Girlfriend Date With Katrine & Robyn Pt. 1 - THE SHOW

Ooooooooh child.  FauxPrah do gots you a tip.  Her friend Robyn has a hit on her hands.  Born out Robyn's big ol' compassionate heart and lots of heartache and sometimes frustration she created the show #DateMe: An OKCupid Experiment and Chicago's renowned Second City's Up Comedy Theatre

#DATEME Runs Through May 10th at the UP Comedy Theatre

Described on the website as "a hilarious romp through the world of online dating made up of actual dialogue from interactions on OKCupid. The writers posted 38 fake “#DateMe” character profiles on the country’s most popular dating website and encountered a host of hilarious and strange singles all looking to find love in a virtual landscape."  I definitely can say the girl has got a hit on her hands.

It is beautifully woven, taking you on a wonderful rollercoaster of emotions, a testament to Ms. Robyn's beautiful compassionate heart.  The cast is also brilliant.  Just let it be said that Ms. FauxPrah do think Beth Melewski need to walk around at all times with a microphone pole.  Gurl know how to work a pole... in a good way.  Then get captivated by those lovely and sometimes deranged... in a good way, eyes of Ms. Robyn Scott.  Round that out with the amazing technical wizardry of Ms. Meghan Teal and bam in the boom.  EXCELLENCE!  A TRIUMPH!  I know all of these ladies and without a doubt can say I know some extremely talented women.

Now if you are saying, "FauxPrah I don't need no women, how about dem boyz?"  Well I can say they are delicious.  Ms. FauxPrah don't know them as well, but rounding out that cast is Kevin Sciretta, Randall Harr and Chris Alvarado.  There is something to get your groove back with all of them.  They.  Are.  Perfect.  With all of them you get a true glimpse into every man you have ever met.  Ms. FauxPrah also almost stood up and yelled, "PREACH! Can I get an AMEN up in here?" as she totally related to many of the type of characters portrayed by these men, particularly the sad Sally man character.  I don't remember what they called it.  You know, the man that you have to take care of because he's too pathetic to take care of himself, thus draining you of life?  You know that one?  Well he and all the others are there hunties.  Again... the struggle is real.

Finally this beauty was directed by a truly beautiful friend Mr. Frank Caeti.  Frank is one of those guys that deserves everything he ever gets just so as everything he ever gets is good.  I have worked with Frank before and can without a doubt say that projects with him are good because of his dedication and love.

So clearly Ms. FauxPrah love this show.  How much?  Well she don't pay to see shows (based on knowing enough people in theatre) and she paid to see this one and would pay to see it again.

The night was bookended with a beautiful dinner at O'Briens Restaurant and Bar in Old Town on Wells Street in Chicago.  Hunties let me tell you about their garlic mashed potatoes.  I would go there just for those.  You know FauxPrah like a good mash in her mouth.  We capped that off with some delicious Kim Crawford Savignon Blanc.  The brand can be found at most liquor store outlets and is a delicious.

The wine itself has a yellow/green hue and hails from the Marlborough Region in New Zealand (where the best sauvignon blanc do come from).  It has a citrus and herby flavor with just enough sweetness.  Ms. FauxPrah don't like a sweet wine, but fine this finish to be fresh, zesty and lingering.

It is a very balanced wine for a not so balanced gurl.  AmIRightYa'll?

We then ended our night at Corcoran's Grill & Pub across the street from Second City where we had delicious mojitos.  Gots to say that bartender must have a weighted hand because those cocktails did not suffer from being bland.  Ms. FauxPrah even had to dilute hers a bit.

We caught up and discussed the craziness of life and the appearance of fine lines.  For more on our wrinkle solutions check out Pt. 2 of this blog coming up later today.  And remember hunties, this old world can be harsh and this dating world daunting, but to get you through...

Don't settle for anything else.  Even if that love is the love you give yourself.
