Ladies and Gentlemen... The amazing... BIO OIL

So Ms. Faux has a tradition of having a favorite things party every holiday season.  It is amazingly fun and the goal is to bring your favorite thing for a dirty Santa type swap that costs under $20.

Last year one lady bought Bio Oil.  Now Ms. Faux knew about this amazing product as she used it after her shoulder surgery as one of the most common uses for Bio Oil is to prevent the worsening of scarring.

The above picture is of the packing on Ms. Faux's shoulder.  Now imagine they pulled out something the size of an apple.

Yes... that was the size of the tumor that was removed.  It also was so bad that it also had started growing downward into my arm.  Now why on earth would I be giving you all of this detail?  Well because the incision was actually quite large on my shoulder.  I also had a regular surgeon and not a plastic surgeon do the work so I increased my chances of major scarring in the area.  As you can see below however, the potentially HUGE scar is quite small, light in color and the skin is rather supple.  Ms. Faux used Bio Oil.

Well based on the party that I threw another of Ms. Faux's friends asked her to write a blog on other uses for bio oil and Ms. Faux does love the product so I was happy to oblige.

So what is Bio Oil?  Bio-Oil is a do-it-all skin saver that contains a non-clogging, natural blend of calendula, lavender, and rosemary oils as well as chamomile extract and vitamins A & E.

First of all, Bio Oil has a very herbal scent.  Like that of a spa and likely from the lavender and rosemary oils.  That is one of Ms. Faux's favorite scents so I have used it in my bath just to have the spa like aroma.

Just a few drops will do and it will send you down the road of relaxation.  But don't stop there.  Bio Oil is also a wonderful moisturizer.  Not only with it condition your skin in the bath, but very little is needed to give healing help to severely dry skin and helps also to heal sunburns, repair cracked heels, softens cuticles, basically anywhere you need some moisture.

Need more bath uses???  Try placing a couple of drops into Bio Oil into your shampoo should you have an itchy scalp.  Also on your head, rub a drop together and rub on the ends of your hair for extra conditioning or to help prevent fly aways.

Smooth it on before showering to help preserve a spray tan.  It helps to lock everything in.

Help to prevent pre-shaving nicks by using it as a treatment before shaving.  It will soften the skin and give you a softer shave with less nicks.

It helps with acne scars, dark spots, stretch marks, chapped lips, fine lines, and manny other skin abnormalities.  Seriously... google Bio Oil Before/After and you will be amazed at its uses.

Cosmetically use it after plucking or waxing brows to help soothe the area.  Put a few drops in a bronzer for a dewy look or in your foundation for the smoothest and silkiest application.  Enhance eye shadows to the dewy look that is all the rage and use with concealer to make a quickie foundation for your skin.  Use as a primer, a dewy/natural highlighter on your cheekbones.

And Ms. Faux also uses it as a massage oil.  Have a romantic night with massages.  It isn't a feminine or masculine scent so it can be used for all.  Also is great to have around for massages to nagging sports related muscle injuries, tightness or inflammation.  Ms. Faux has a really tight IT band that Bio Oil and her Knobble Massage Tool (available for $15.95 at Amazon.com) make less painful.

And Ms. Faux is really going to put Bio Oil to the test and check back.  Probably the worst area for uneven shin on Ms. Faux's entire body is her décolletage.  This is due partially to age, but also because Ms. Faux was not the most careful in her youth and wore lots of tank tops in the sun, thus has sun damage.  Even more damaging however is that Ms. Faux is a die hard side sleeper thus creasing the area more.  So she is going to take a Bio Oil Challenge.

So here it is.  Doesn't look terrible, but there is hyper-pigmentation of some capillaries, slight creasing and non-uniform skin tone.  So starting tonight I will do Bio Oil for 4 weeks and report back with my results on my décolletage.  Here is the before.  See you in four weeks for the after.

So there you go.  Bio Oil.  Miracle, multi-use tool.  Bio Oil can be found in most drugstores, Target, Wal-Mart, Ulta, etc...  It's everywhere.  Here it is for $9.19 for 4.6 oz at Drugstore.com.

Do you like Bio Oil?

What is your favorite usage of the product?

Ms. Faux wants to know.  Leave it in the comments.

Also if ya'll love it please tell all of your friends and follow her on the following sites.  If you don't... tell your enemies and just sit back and laugh at how they were sent to my ramblings.  And remember... if you don't look good, then Ms. Faux be lookin' like a damn fool.
