Fab 5 Friday: 10.2.2015

All the freshest that kept Ms. Faux from lookin' a fool.

1.  Cover Girl TruBlend Foundation $9.99 at ULTA.com

What is it?  According to Ulta.com...

TruBlend Liquid Makeup by Cover Girl blends seamlessly for a flawless look. Perfectly matches 99 percent of all skintones. Available in 21 shades - 7 light, 7 medium, and 7 deep to easily find your perfect blend. You won't know where your makeup ends and your own skin begins!

What does Ms. Faux think?  According to Ulta.com...

Well Ms. Faux does not care for make up that looks like it is sitting right upon your face, especially when she has a rare bit of skin congestion as she has the last couple days.  This make up took down some of the redness without drawing attention.  In fact it looked as if I didn't have anything on.

The formulation of this is perfect for Normal to Oily skin.  I would say it might not be a good choice for me in winter when my skin tends to dry a little more.  I mean it didn't dry my skin, but it was perfect for controlling oils.

Now... Ms. faux has very pale, but neutral skin so as long as she can find a bleached snow shade she is generally o.k.  This however does what it says and has 21 shades so most should be able to find their skin tone.  I do declare I do love this product.

2.  Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Treatment Brightener Concealer $8.99 at Ulta.com

What is it?  According to Ulta.com...

Micro-corrector applicator + super concentrated formula instantly creates a radiant, refreshed looking eye area. Super concentrated formula with goji berry + haloxyl helps to erase the appearance of dark circles and fine lines, while visibly diminishing the appearance of puffiness around the eyes.

What does Ms. Faux Think?

Well Ms. Faux has not slept well at all this week and this was the perfect item to not only brighten under the eye but also to just put an end to that tired look.  It particularly went well yesterday when I was finally able to have a glass of wine after having not been drinking in September.  The glass turned into a bottle and well... lets just say this product was perfect.

The sponge applicator and your finger is all you need to create a flawless look.  Also like TruBlend this blends well into the skin without creasing and just leaves you looking your best.

3.  Maybelline Brow Drama Pro Palette $12.99 @ Ulta.com

What is it?  According to Ulta.com...

What does Ms. Faux Think?

Well if you have read my blog you do know Ms. Faux do care for a well manicured brow.  I hate a fake looking brow though and right now (this opinion changes from time to time) I am all about powder and this palette is pretty great.

It comes in blonde, auburn, soft brown and dark brown.  Now Ms. Faux has found that soft browns tends to work for a more casual look for her while Dark brown does better for dramatic.  How do I get away with this???  Well I have large brows that are on the sparser side but are actually dark hair.  However I fill them in is what they look like.  Subtle or Dramatic!!!  I get to choose and these are perfect for that.

The only criticism that I have for the palette is that the brushes are not my favorite but to be real, they actually work o.k.  They just aren't what I would grab, but they are solid.  Also I didn't use the highlighter powder because I prefer my Becca Opal highlighter more.  I just though... maybe I should layer them, but for this week, I did not.  This product however overall is just great.

#4.  Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Treatment $42 @ Sephora.com

What is it?  According to Sephora.com...

What it is:
A deep cleansing treatment for face including a rich creamy oil formula and a double-sided cleansing cloth for purifying and detoxifying skin.

What it does:
Purify and exfoliate skin with this gentle cleansing system. The innovative creamy oil cleanser contains argan oil to hydrate and nourish while dissolving impurities. The double-sided cleansing cloth includes a muslin side to lightly exfoliate skin, and a soft microfiber side to remove all traces of makeup, dirt, and dead skin. Innovative creamy oil cleanser starts out as a cream and melts into an oil, detoxifying and dissolving skin impurities. Gentle and suitable for all skin types, especially dry and sensitive ones, the treatment safely opens and decongests pores for clean, beautiful skin.

What did Ms. Faux Think?

As I mentioned Ms. Faux's skin was a little congested and usually when that happens it is because she has not been exfoliating that well.  My breakouts are generally caused due to that as I don't have excessive oil or dirt.

This stuff is perfect.  It melts away make-up, dirt and all sorts of crap.  It does in fact decongest the skin.  It leaves it soft, supple and so very clean and healthy looking.

#5.  Clarisonic - Prices Vary ($99-$265) at Sephora.com

What is it?  According to Sephora.com...

It's time to think beyond the washcloth and elevate cleansing to a sonic level. Clarisonic's patented sonic technology gently removes the impurities traditional cleaning methods leave behind, cleansing six times better than your hands alone. In just 60 seconds, its sonic action removes impurities from pores so that creams, serums, and moisturizers are more effective. And with regular daily use you'll notice a reduction in dry patches, oily areas, and blemishes.

What does Ms. Faux think?

I will stop there because the model Ms. Faux has I think is discontinued.  I think it was called the Clarisonic Pro.  It is a cordless/waterproof clarisonic.  I think they replaced them with the Mia line.  The thing is it all works the same.  The thing I see being the big difference is corded vs. not corded.  Mine is not corded.  I simply charge it and keep it in the shower until it needs charged again.  It is totally submersible and I just love it.

I do find when I use it it exfoliates the dry patches on my cheeks and congestion around the nose clears up in just a couple of days.  I have been using the clarisonic with the Deep Pore Attachment $27 at Sephora.com.

It has been what Ms. Faux's skin needs.  Also... here are some fancy pictures of how well a clarisonic cleans your skin.  Neat huh?

I bought it hook, line and sinker.  Seriously though I have found that when I take the time to use my Clarisonic my skin does look, feel and appear to look much better with better texture.  I will further give the disclaimer that I do not have troubles with my skin, but will say I do reach for my clarisonic for when it acts a fool.

So there you go.  The products that kept Ms. Faux from looking a hot mess.

So have you tried any of these products?  If so what did you think?

Do you have any must use products that can save Ms. Faux from looking a hot mess?
