Day 9: When Doing Nothing IS Self-Care
So today the storm clouds were looming in my sinus cavities and crown of my head. My throat, completely raw.
In terms of re-investing in myself as it pertains to my exercise regime, I knew that I was in no way, shape or form in a place to do hot yoga which was on the docket. Instead of punishing my body through a grueling hour of 100 degree temps and postures I would most certainly fall out of constantly, I re-invested in myself by doing nothing. Well... nothing strenuous. I did do a bit of restorative yoga to help stretch my tight muscles.
I went home and flushed my sinus cavities, drank some emergen-c and went to bed. I read a little from my book about mindfulness and felt very good about my decisions. I am after all sick. No need to kick a body when it is down.
Instead I gave it a bit of a cuddle and will continue to until my cold subsides.
Today's Self Care:
1. Restorative Yoga
2. Just said no to strenuous activities
3. Did not let the opinions and actions of other control me or my emotions.
