So recently I went about trying out a new product, an old product and a couple that are middle of the road. Oddly enough the pricing kind of followed that pattern as well. So lets jump in to these favorite new products.
First I was introduced to the new Stila Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush $26 at StilaCosmetics.com.
Stila claims:
Its luminous finish adds a healthy-looking, fresh glow to the skin.
Benefits:
- Water-based gel formula has an immediate cooling and hydrating sensation.
- Mesh-touch color dispenser delivers a single splash of color per application.
- Buildable, color-true pigments.
- Long-wear, non-transfer.
- Waterproof
- Application is compatible with Stila #33 One Step Complexion Brush.
Ms. Faux found that it is true to its word. The color is exact and it provides a lovely second skin look to your face. Not like your blush is sitting on top of your skin, but rather becomes part of your skin. I absolutely love.
The colors I selected are Shimmering Lotus and Rosewater. Why? I feel they are a coral and purple/pink which are the make up stories I tend to use most when applying make up. Don't get me wrong I could easily see adding Water Poppy to my collection and possibly Water Lily. Water Blossom is probably a little bit too cool for my skin tone which is neutral, but I tend to favor warm tones and when I do venture to the cool side I tend to stay on the side of more dramatic rather than pastel. The colors however are all very beautiful. Water Poppy will soon be part of my life.
Next I am in love with Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Cheek Flush in "Pinking of You" and, "Pop of Peach," $6.99 at ULTA.com.
Maybelline claims:
Maybelline's Baby Skin Instant Cheek Flush is a fool-proof sheer blush.
Benefits:
Maybelline's Baby Skin Instant Cheek Flush is a fool-proof sheer blush.
Benefits:
- Fresh, tinted creamy gel formula easily smoothes on for a hint of color
- Looks natural, not overdone
- For all skin types and non-comedogenic
- Sheer coverage
Use alone or over makeup. Smooth directly onto cheeks in upward motion for subtle hint of color.
I agree with everything that Maybelline claims and will go so far as to say this is likely to become my no make up blush should I choose. You know... those days where you wear no make up or just a tinted moisturizer and need just a hint of color. This is perfection and provides just a hint of color.

Last is the cheapest of the cheap and the dupe! We all know about NARS cult favorite blush, "Orgasm."
It provides a lovely flush that well, is supposed to mimic your cheeks during the throws of passion. It is a very well known color and not really a cult favorite as everyone seems to know about it. It is known as a perfect blush. Peachy/pink perfection, however at $30 is a daunting purchase for some. Look no further though, coming in at $3.19 or cheaper if you get it on sale the fine people at Wet and Wild in the form of, "Pearlescent Pink," Blush.
Don't believe me? Look at the swatch below.. and know that I actually prefer Wet and Wild to Nars.

So hunties go ahead and save yourself some money
So there you go. Something new, something old, something expensive, something cheap. All blushes that I love.
