The Faux Awards Pt. 1

Hi hunties!  Ms. Faux just had the idea to do the first annual Faux Awards.  What are the Faux Awards?  Well they are Ms. Faux's favorite cosmetics in any given category.  I do take in consideration the frequency at which I use the product, my willingness to spend the dollas on the product and overall, just what Ms. FauxPrah do care for.

I plan to do one category a day until we are complete (with the exception of Friday because that is FAB FIVE FRIDAY!!!).  At the end of each category will be a winner and after all categories are presented there will be a Best In Show!!!  One can only hope it will be judged by Mr. Fred Willard.

To begin our awards is the fiercest foundations, highlighters, bronzers, powder and concealers with Ms. Faux's...
Best in Face
Best in Foundation

What is it?

The tiniest drop of this hybrid fluid creates a fresh, natural complexion. Skin looks refined and feels refreshed, creating an exquisite makeup experience. The fluid formula has a soft, water-light texture, and comes in 10 shades that match perfectly to skin’s undertones, whether pink or beige. Dermatologist-tested. Non-comedogenic. Oil- free.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Swatches
Ms. Faux does love it as it provides the perfect barely there foundation coverage, just as she likes it.  Lightweight.  Doesn't cause breakouts.  It is like perfectly clean skin at its best.

Best in Concealer

What is it?

Studio Secrets Magic Lumi Concealer highlights contours while playing down imperfections, Instantly enlightens shadows and dark circles and illuminates corners and brows for a wide-awake effect.

L'Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Lumi Highlighter Concealer Swatch
Ms. Faux has a little secret for you.  Well not really that big of a secret, but L'Oreal and Yves Saint Laurent are basically the same company.  Before Ms. Faux's favorite concealer was Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Radiant Touch concealer $42 at Nordstroms and then she discovered this little beauty and guess what.  She can't tell the difference.  So for almost $30 cheaper I am guessing you are getting the exact same product in a little bit different packaging.

Best in Highlighter

What is it?

François Nars iconic innovation, the original multi-purpose stick for eyes, cheeks, lips and body. Its unique creamy formula and sheer color blends effortlessly to create shimmering accents; contours or dynamic highlights on all skin tones. Apply with fingers: the skins warmth allows for perfect blending.

NARS Copacabana Multiple Swatch
Ms. Faux does love it and dabs a bit on her brow bone, cheek bone, cupid's bow, between her eyebrows and on her chin.  Now I do think this is a bit too bright to be used on the lips, unless perhaps you have a darker skin tone, but it is perfect as a highlighter and is a solid which I do quite prefer than a liquid highlighter.  Is a bit easier to control and blend with its creme to powder formula.

Best in Bronzer

What is it?

Bronzing Powder creates the ultimate healthy glow. Diffused powders with golden shimmer create an all-over warmth or contour for the face perfect for creating or enhancing the look of tanned skin. Finely milled powders fills in lines and pores for smoother, more even looking complexion.

Nars Laguna Swatch

What does Ms. Faux think?  This bronzer is really the only one that works for her.  It appears to be dark, but is actually a build able color that goes on light, thanks to the lovely buttery powder formula and can build to the desired look.  Ms. Faux does have very pale skin so bronzers are real tricky, but this is an absolute delight and requires less blending of all bronzers she has tried and is seemingly perfect for all skin tones.  This is also among the cult favorites in NARS arsenal and a must have by many professional make up artists.  For a more affordable dupe, check out Ms. Faux's recent Cosmetic Cagematch Dupe Here.  Still Ms. Faux do prefer Nars Laguna.

Best in Powder

What is it?

A silky finishing powder that provides and invisible way to set makeup.  Reduces shine while optically minimizing the look of pores, lines and imperfections.  Available in one universal colour that suits all shades.  Wear over makeup or on bare, moisturized skin.

Ms. Faux do love this powder as it works on any skin tone.  It is truly translucent.  Tip: you do have to blend it out though or look like a crack whore, so long as you do it is perfect to soak up excess oil and set your makeup to perfection.

And now...  Who is best in category...

Best in Category

Best in category has to go to NARS Multiple in Copacabana.

Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua was a real close match because I do truly love it, but NARS Multiple is a product that Ms. Faux uses almost every day therefore the first recipient of a Faux Award.

So there we go.  The bar has been set.  Tune in tomorrow when the category is...

Best in Cheeks, Lips & Brows!!!
