The Faux Awards Pt. 4 - Best in Skincare

BEST IN SKINCARE

So Ms. Faux is a firm believer to have your best looking make-up you must start with your foundation.  and I'm not speaking of concealers, actual foundation, etc..., but rather your skin.

As a matter of fact I think if you are going to spend your money it is better spent on skincare rather than cosmetics.  So here are some of Ms. Faux's absolute favorites ever.

What is it?

Environmental damage changes cells deep within the skin surface, producing losses in vitality, tone and firmness. The appearance of lines and wrinkles can be partially reversed with the skin care regimen that includes proteins and peptides to hydrate, tighten and tone mature or UV damaged skin and renew surface skin cells. Restore a youthful appearance at any age by repairing damage at the skin's surface. This daytime age reversing cream provides nutrients and skin conditioning properties with broad spectrum sunscreen to help repair damaged skin and protect from future damage.

What does Ms. Faux Think?

Well first it is on this list so clearly I love it.  Also it is ridiculously expensive so for me to even suggest it means I REALLY do think it is worth it.  Someone gave this to me as a gift one year as she worked at the DDF counter.  I have only purchased it one other time, but I do know that my skin has never looked better than when I was using this product.

What is it?

A nondrying hydration mask to deliver instant, extreme hydration.   THIRSTYMUD™ uses the newest, most advanced, and extreme hydration active technologies. It moisturizes, restores, replenishes, and calms the skin. Dewdration™ boosts and locks in moisture for a dewy and youthful result while HydraPack™ leaves skin with an instant silky, soft, and supple feel. GreenEnergy™ smooths and energizes the skin, giving you a healthy-looking, glowing complexion

What does Ms. Faux Think?

Ms. Faux loves this for when her skin is feeling a bit tight.  A couple of nights of this thin layer of mud over your face overnight and your skin is back in shape.  Ms. Faux is also taking this on her upcoming trip to Italy to help battle that pesky dehydrating recycled plane air.  Another tip:  You can get this for $49.94 at Amazon.com

What is it?

AZTEC SECRET INDIAN HEALING CLAY is bentonite clay from Death Valley, California, where it is sun- dried for up to six months in temperatures that sometimes reach 134 degrees.

The unique structure of the molecules in Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay carry a negative electron charge. This comes from the valance electron count from the specific minerals found in Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay.

When a facial or clay poultice is applied to the skin it forms a negative charge. Poisons and toxins stored in the epidermis have a positive charge - Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay lifts the pimple and blackheads into the clay bed to cause accelerated healing and nourishment to the skin with over 50
minerals.100% NATURAL.

What does Ms. Faux think?

It really does suck out everything in your skin, so much Ms. Faux cannot use this too often as it can be too drying, but the good thing is that this is a treatment.  It is not meant for regular use.  It is meant to clean up your skin, which you generally can do by a simple good facial care regime.  I use this about once a month and I have to say a little bit goes a long way.  The only trouble I see with this product is that it can clog your sinks so be careful when you use it.

What is it?

For Normal to Oily Skin.  Removes excess oil without drying and rinses clean
  • Non-comedogenic/fragrance free and dermatologist recommended
This effective yet gentle facial cleanser was originally formulated for dermatologists to keep normal to oily skin clean and healthy.
  • Removes surface oils, dirt and makeup without leaving skin tight or overly dry.  Rinses clean without leaving any pore-clogging residue.  Gentle enough for everyday use
What does Ms. Faux think?

Ms. Faux has used this product since she was a teenager.  It has a fresh clean smell and is perfectly formulated for your skin.  It removes the surface oils and leaves your skin perfectly primed for your favorite moisturizer.  Now Ms. Faux do switch back and forth with facial cleansers, but this is the one that keeps her coming back.  It is good.  Doctors recommend it and best yet, it is affordable.  Ms. Faux loves to use this after removing her make up with her next Best in Skincare product, MAC Cleansing Oil.

What is it?

An oil-based cleanser that removes all makeup, including long-wearing and waterproof products. Formulated with extracts of sea grass, peach leaf and grape seed oil, which are ingredients known to condition and moisturize. Emulsifies instantly upon contact with water and then rinses off without a trace. Skin is left clear, soft and relaxed. Ultra-gentle, it works exceptionally well on dry, mature or stressed-out skins.

I have also been using this for years to melt away make-up.  It is perfect right before using Cetaphil cleanser.  I pump a couple of pumps into my hand and moisturize on my face and eye make up.  I wipe away with a flannel cloth.

What is it?

Clarisonic offers the best in Sonic skin cleansing, with devices designed for the face, body and feet. Our Mia 1, 2 and 3 facial skin-care systems treat conditions such as dull skin, acne, enlarged pores and wrinkles.

With an array of exfoliating brush headsfor even the most sensitive skin, you can customize the perfect combination ofdevice, brush head and cleanser for any skin type. In just 60 seconds, twice a day, you’ll experience soft, healthy skin that’s six times cleaner than skin washed with hands alone.

What does Ms. Faux think?

I think most cleansers are just made better by this tool.  I have the Clairsonic Plus which boasts different speeds, timers and uses for body brushes.  I rarely use it on my body so I can say you could easily get a cheaper model that will do the same.  The great thing about this product is that you can definitely see the difference in your skin when you use it regularly.  Pores appear smaller, less blackheads, less dull skin.  It is perfection.

What is it?

  • Soothing non-rinse cleanser and make-up remover Fragrance-free
  • Perfectly cleanses and removes make-up from the face and eyes
  • Guarantees excellent tolerance; soothes irritated skin and minimizes redness
  • Provides an immediate feeling of freshness
  • Alcohol-free, no phenoxyandhanol, designed for dry sensitive skin

  • What does Ms. Faux think?

Oooooooh child it is expensive and you could use Simple Cleansing Micellar Water $6.99 at walgreens.com, but I have to say Ms. Faux do quite prefer this one.  The problem with the pricing is that it is not readily available in the US, therefore it is a bit pricier.  It is so lightweight, clean and does not irritate your eyes... AT ALL.  Ms. Faux has the most sensitive eyes ever so she would know.

    What is it?

Part-toner, part-serum mist of essential oils and plant active ingredients.  Smooths the skin, tightens the pores, and provides an instant burst of radiance, as it stimulates microcirculation.

    What does Ms. Faux think?

Well I don't know exactly what to call this product.  Toner, mist, make-up setting spray, a gift from God?  Ms. Faux uses this for everything, even for just a pick me up.  It has a gorgeous herbal scent and a cooling sensation when you apply it to your face.  This will be packed in Ms. Faux's carryon for her upcoming trip to Italy.  I can't imagine anything to make me feel more comfortable on the plane.

    And Now...

    BEST IN CATEGORY

    CAUDALIE BEAUTY ELIXIR

If Ms. Faux were to be true about the one thing she uses daily she would have to say Bioderma or a product like it like Simple Micellar Water, however Caudalie Beauty Elixir is one that she considers a real treat to her skin.  I don't use it as often due to the price, but I would if I could.  I just love it.  My idea of a perfect world is having one of these in my purse, another in my gym bag, at work, next to my bed, at my make up table, in my car... you get it.  Everywhere I am.

So that is it.  Pt. 4 of the First Annual Faux Awards

Tune in tomorrow for BEST IN BATH!!!  The bath is Ms. Faux's favorite place on earth so you know that is gonna be good.
